Geely's premium electric vehicle brand, Zeekr, has officially launched a revamped version of its flagship 009 MPV, intensifying the competition in China's luxury EV market. The higher-tier seven-seat Ultra+ and six-seat Ultra+ Executive versions are upgraded to a 900-volt system and a 115-kWh battery, boasting a 3.9-second 0-100 km/h acceleration time and a 720 km range. All models are equipped with CATL's Qilin batteries.
The launch comes as Zeekr's 009 sales have seen a decline in 2026, with 4,686 units delivered in the first four months, a 47.47 percent year-on-year drop, according to data compiled by CnEVPost. The refreshed model, with its advanced technology and competitive pricing, is a clear attempt to reverse this trend and recapture market share from competitors like the recently launched Li Auto Mega.
The revamped Zeekr 009 is built on a versatile platform offering both single and dual-motor powertrains. The single-motor version, found in the Ultra trim, produces 422 hp and 440 N·m of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. The dual-motor setup in the Ultra+ trims delivers a powerful 925 hp and 913 N·m of torque.
The 900V architecture in the higher-tier models allows for ultra-fast charging, with the battery capable of charging from 10% to 80% in just 10 minutes. The 800V system in the base model is also quick, achieving the same charge in 11.5 minutes. The vehicle's chassis is enhanced with a standard closed dual-chamber air suspension and a smart magic carpet function for a smoother ride.
In a significant step up in autonomous driving capabilities, the new Zeekr 009 comes standard with LiDAR and Nvidia's Drive Thor-U assisted driving chip, which provides a substantial 700 TOPS of computing power. The Geely Afari Smart Driving (G-ASD) H7 system includes over 70 active safety features, such as forward collision emergency braking and automatic emergency steering.
The interior of the Zeekr 009 has been refreshed with a new steering wheel and a crystal knob on the center console. The second-row seats are a major highlight, with the seven-seater Ultra+ version featuring dual rotating seats and the six-seat Executive version adding Sofaro first-class aviation seats with 22-point massage functions.
