A Nasdaq-listed firm that built its balance sheet around Bitcoin is now spending capital to retire its own stock instead. Silvia, Inc. held roughly 5,130 coins at the Sept. 22 close, down 124 from the prior count, and used the freed-up capital to buy back another 2.3% of its shares below net asset value.
The company, which renamed itself from ProCap Financial, said the latest tranche brings total repurchases since the program began to about 14.5% of the shares outstanding at inception. Outstanding shares stood at 82,881,223 at the Sept. 22 close, with NAV per share of about $4.27, according to the company's statement. Silvia ascribes zero value to its agentic finance business in that NAV calculation, meaning any value assigned to those products is incremental to the figure.
The arithmetic behind the pivot is straightforward. At $4.27 per share, the equity trades below the value of the Bitcoin and other net assets it holds, so each repurchase retires stock for less than the assets backing it. The 124 BTC reduction is small against total spot Bitcoin liquidity and is unlikely to move the price of the token on its own. What it changes is the direction of travel: a company that built its balance sheet around accumulating Bitcoin has now spent at least part of a reporting period shrinking that position.
Silvia raised more than $750 million from investors at its 2025 founding and trades under the symbol SVIA. The company did not disclose the dollar value of the latest repurchase tranche or the average price paid, and it did not say whether further Bitcoin sales are planned.
For holders, the signal cuts two ways. The buyback is accretive if the discount to NAV persists, but the treasury reduction removes Silvia from the list of listed companies adding to Bitcoin positions — a group whose collective buying has been cited as a demand source for the token. Investors will watch the next monthly disclosure of share count and Bitcoin holdings, expected in October, for whether the 5,130 figure holds or falls further.
